Sammy’s Neighborhood Pub
The original Sammy’s restaurant in downtown Belmont, NC, looked to expand their business with a second location in an underserved market. An 1870’s era building in downtown Dallas, NC was the ideal space our client found for an adaptive and mixed-use project for their next restaurant.
HELT Design was engaged with a brief to maintain as much of the original character and materials as possible in this adaptive reuse project. The scope of design for the run-down building was a complete interior redesign and renovation. Additionally, HELT Design had to oversee extensive structural work due to ageing and deteriorated existing walls. Separate tenants on the second floor required carefully thought-out egress and code evaluations.
Bringing this building back to life gives HELT Design great pleasure especially as it now provides a much-needed place of gathering and community in the neighborhood.
