In the early 1990’s, the founding members of the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation (CRF), established a number of baseline goals. The organization would advocate and protect the Catawba-Wateree basin’s lakes, rivers, and streams to maintain plentiful clean drinking water for everyone. They also had a goal of establishing a waterfront Headquarters.

HELT Design was thrilled to design their new headquarters located in a 1900’s era manufacturing mill in downtown McAdenville, NC. This adaptive reuse space includes a state-of-the-art science lab, multi-functional classrooms and communal meeting spaces, offices, a retail space, and taproom. The Riverkeeper HQ is part of the larger multi-use revitalization project within the Dynamo 31 complex.
