We are thrilled to complete one of the first steps in the physical transformation of the newly rebranded Daniel Stowe Conservancy in Belmont, North Carolina. In April of this year, the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden announced its rebranding as the Daniel Stowe Conservancy with a new brand promise to “Help All Discover Their Path to Nature”. Through thoughtful design and close collaboration with the Conservancy’s leadership team, HELT Design has helped transform the existing Visitor’s Pavilion gift shop (circa mid-1990s) into a vibrant space that combines a modern café offering enhanced food and beverage options, along with expanded indoor and outdoor retail space for visitors to enjoy. The new Big Leaf Café + Shop is set to formally and fully open before the end of May.
The Big Leaf Café represents just one element of the Conservancy’s impressive vision for the property. As part of their long-range strategic master plan, we’re excited to see how this space will enhance the visitor experience at the gardens and complement the natural beauty that has made STOWE a regional landmark since its founding in 1991.
We’re honored to have played this role in supporting the Conservancy’s work. Their commitment to creating meaningful environments that connect people with nature aligns perfectly with HELT’s mission of transforming spaces into places that matter.
