HELT Design is honored to lead the design efforts for the Belmont Trolley Barn project.  This isn’t just a building – it’s a bridge between history and progress, designed to serve as a hub for Belmont’s growing community while pioneering advancements in rail technology.  The mission of the project is to preserve the past by restoring trolley service and operating a museum in Gaston County, while inspiring the future through emerging technologies, connecting communities, and serving as a catalyst for economic growth.  The Belmont Trolley Station will become a highly sought-after venue for large private and community events, as well as a hub of downtown activity.  Designed to be a uniquely identifiable landmark with a local-historical flavor.

The team at HELT Design designed a facility that reflects the utilitarian elegance of historic trolley barns—characterized by exposed steel, expansive windows, and industrial charm—while integrating sustainable, battery-powered trolley technology and creating a flexible, community-focused space for events, education, and innovation.  This long-term vision will leave a lasting impact on Belmont and Gaston County.
