A successful master plan doesn’t begin with a fully formed vision. It begins by recognizing a need, understanding what makes a place special, and trusting a collaborative design process to uncover challenges, test ideas, and ultimately build consensus around a shared vision.

This October, HELT Design Principal Tim Johnston will join representatives from WithersRavenel and Design Workshop, along with Daniel Stowe Conservancy CEO and Executive Director John Searby, for a panel discussion at the 2026 IDEA, Historic Landscapes, and Design & Planning Symposium.

Together, the panel will share insights from the collaborative master planning effort at Stowe and discuss how thoughtful planning and design can help guide the future of public gardens.

We look forward to sharing that journey and the conversation it will inspire.

The event takes place October 21–23, 2026. Learn more:
